About Us

Refugee and Immigrant Mental Health Services (RIMHS) is a nonprofit organization rooted in the belief that mental health care must be accessible, culturally responsive, and community-driven.

Our team is made up of individuals who reflect the communities we serve—people with lived experience of war, displacement, trauma, and the challenges of navigating mental health systems as immigrants, refugees, and people of color. We bring not only professional expertise but deep empathy, cultural insight, and a shared commitment to healing and justice.

Our Mission
Our mission is to improve the mental health and well-being of underserved communities, with a specific focus on refugees and immigrants, through culturally responsive support, education, advocacy, outreach, referrals, and community-based services.

Our Vision
A world where marginalized communities experience equitable access to care, resources, and opportunities—empowering them to lead fulfilling lives and build resilient communities.

Why We Exist
Mainstream mental health systems often overlook the cultural, historical, and systemic factors affecting our communities. At RIMHS, we close those gaps by offering care that honors identity, uplifts stories, and builds strength through connection and cultural pride.
